that the lawbreaker willfully, voluntarily, and intentionally
violated a known legal duty. In order to convict on tax evasion,
the government must also prove a tax deficiency and an affirmative
act of evasion or attempt to evade payment of the tax.

defense business back in 1978 with the firm of Rose, Edwards,
Hunt, & Pearson. Eventually, he became a partner in that
firm in 1984, at which time it was called Edwards, Hale, &
Hansen, Ltd. In 1994, he formed his own firm currently known
as Hansen & Rasmussen, P.C. Since that time, the majority
of his practice has continued to be in insurance defense.
He is "AV" rated by Martindale-Hubbell, and
is listed in their "Bar Register of Preeminent Lawyers."
